Presleigh Joy is 2!

Presleigh Joy turned 2 on September 16th and her party was the 19th. Her party pictures will come first, even though they happened last, because it has been awhile since I have blogged (I'm a little rusty) and I messed up loading them. :) Oh well. Presleigh had a "pink" party because she is all about anything pink! It was so much fun!

Our family in our "perfect pink" and "radical red" that guests were asked to wear. :)

My mom and I made all the pink pom pom's and Nick did a good job of helping me "fluff" them for the party!

My mom and sister did the cake! It was soooo good and pink inside as well!

Beginning to open presents
This party was so much fun and what made it even more wonderful was being surrounded by so many friends and family that we love!

My baby girl is 2! It is very hard to believe! We had so much fun on her birthday. The day of her birthday I took her, along with Aunt Charla, Lilah, and Gramma, to "Let's Pretend" in Grapevine. We had a "tea party" where the girls got to dress up and have tea and cupcakes. They also got their makeup done ( which was more like lots of glitter and lip gloss). They loved it and it was so much fun! We usually do the kids scavenger hunt the morning of their birthday but Nick was out of town so we did it that night. The birthday "scavenger hunt" has become a very anticipated and exciting tradition at our house. We started it when Kaden was 2 and have done it ever since. Nick draws pictures of items in our house and the kids run through the house to find the next "clue". The last clue leads them to their wrapped gifts. :)

The is the night before Presleigh's birthday. Grandpa brought over a special gift from him and Nonnie. :)

Another birthday tradition we do at our house is to fill the kids bedrooms the night before their birthday will balloons. This was 2 bags of balloons and it still didn't "fill" it!

I don't know why this picture turned out upside down but this was one of PJ's gifts from us. It is a princess sleeper sofa; pink of course!

1st day of school, fun, and friends

Kaden had his first day of Pre-K last Tuesday on the 7th. It is SO hard for me to believe this is where we are at. He just walked right in after only one kiss and a "will you be back?". This year it feels like he has been in school months not just one week. He has just jumped right in. It is so hard for me to believe how big my sweet baby boy is getting. Even as I write these words I am fighting back tears. How thankful I am for healthy children that are growing strong but it is so hard for me sometimes when I really stop and think about how big they are getting. Anyway,.... :) Kaden has two teachers, Ms. Katie and Ms. Deena. Ms. Katie is the lead teacher and she graduated from Baylor (yeah!) and taught second grade for 4 years before staying home with her girls and teaching preschool. Kaden has also informed me that he really likes Ms. Deena. She is much quiter but Kaden seems to really like her. One boy and four girls from his class last year are in his class this year. I am so thankful he had some familiar faces. One particular girl, Sloane, who was also a friend last year has taken a liking to Kaden. We went over to play at her house yesterday. She has put envelopes with his name on them and pictures inside for him in his cubie already this year. Presleigh was in heaven yesterday with all of her "girl" toys but Kaden was more interested in playing with her older brothers things and in his room. :)

Here is a bit of a "flashback". This was Kaden on his first day of school two years ago at his old school. He was only 2 and a half! And that is me, about a week before Presleigh was born. :)

Sweet baby two years ago on the first day of school.

First day of school 2010 and 4 and a half!

Ms. Katie greeting Kaden at the door. They were talking about what else, Snakes! She had told Kaden at meet the teacher the week before she would bring a snake book just for him and a picture of her holding a snake (which she did).

Kaden and Ms. Katie

We had our dear friends, the Millers, over to play a few weeks ago. Grant and Kaden are the same age and friends from church. I believe the first time Grant and Kaden had a play date together we went over to their house and the boys were about 10 months old. :) This is the "slip 'n slide" that Nick developed for Kaden. You slide down the slide and then shoot down the tarps. He had SO MUCH fun with it that we had Grant over to try it out.

Kaden and Grant

This was Presleigh and Kaden last Wednesday when it came a massive downpour all day! We have to get outside somehow each day so I drug a blanket in the garage with some coloring books and colors and we watched the rain.

Great Wolf Lodge!

This past Monday we took a "mini" vacation to Great Wolf Lodge in Grapevine. It was so much fun! They have a huge indoor waterpark and outisde pools and slides. However, the kids favorite things were by far the "wolf den" that was their special place to sleep in the hotel room and the "show" at the clock tower in the lobby that they do every morning and night. It was so nice to have daddy around a few extra days and Kaden was glued to his side! :) This is our 3rd family trip and we again went during the time that school has started. This trip just reminded us even more of why we do that. There was no one at the hotel while we were there. It was wonderful! Nick and I both decided we will just pull our kids from school for a few days every year to go on family vacations; it is so nice not to have to wait in line for anything and we had whole sections of the waterpark all to ourselves at times.

Kaden and Presleigh playing on the top bunk in their wolf den!

This was so cool and Kaden LOVED it! Our room had this special room just for kids and Kaden slept on the top bunk and Presleigh slept in her Pack' n Play right next to the bottom bunk. The wolf den was painted all over with pictures of girl and boy wolves.

Loving our wolf den!

Our attempt at a family picture in front of the clock tower in the lobby. :)

Sweet Presleigh Joy passed out in daddy's arms and getting love from her brother! This was at Chick-fil-A. We had skipped PJ's nap b/c we got there and she was ready to play so we didn't make her rest. However, on the way to get dinner she passed out. She just couldn't make it. :)

Our "pink" and "blue" wolves ( as they referred to themselves) watching a little "Dinosaur Train" pay per view before bed.

Presleigh's favorite slide!

Swimming!

Going down the slide......

Kaden going down the blue slide, his favorite!

So FUN!

Nick got Kaden to ride those big slides that you can see at the top. They even went outside and then winded back in. Kaden was very hesitant but loved it once he did it!

Eating lunch in their favorite place!

This picture was taken with Violet the wolf. Initially Kaden did not want to get his picture taken with her b/c she was too "girly" but then changed his mind and decided a picture wouldn't hurt. Presleigh liked her from a far!
